Missions We Serve

The UPSY DAISY Creative Reuse Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated by Bethany UMC. By accepting donations of arts and crafts supplies, the center provides an invaluable resource to teachers, crafters, artists, students, and community members, offering these materials at discounted prices. Beyond simply selling the donated items, UPSY DAISY fosters creativity through workshops and craft kits, helping individuals explore new artistic skills and techniques. Educational lesson plans and renewed/repurposed items further enrich the community, promoting sustainable practices and encouraging innovative approaches to art and learning. This initiative not only reduces waste but also nurtures a culture of resourcefulness and artistic expression within the community, making art accessible and affordable to all.

Upsy Daisy proceeds are used to support Bethany United Methodist Church and its broader mission work. By contributing to the Bazaar fund, Upsy Daisy plays a vital role in extending the church's outreach and charitable activities. The funds generated are distributed across various missions, enabling impactful work locally and globally. This initiative not only fosters community spirit but also empowers the church to engage in meaningful projects that uplift those in need. Through such efforts, Upsy Daisy exemplifies the power of community-driven fundraising in making a tangible difference in the world.

We take in mainly special needs and high needs animals that are homeless/unwanted, abandoned, abused, neglected, and/or chained. Many of these animals care ome to us from kill shelters, bad living conditions, abandoned on the streets to fend for themselves, or are owner surrenders. We take in many high needs animals that a lot of other rescues overlook, which makes their chances of making it out of shelters or finding homes nearly impossible. We are dedicated to finding safe and loving homes for the many animals that come through our rescue.

Red Bird Mission builds healthy, sustainable communities in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky. The need remains critical in this isolated, rural, distressed area. Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain provide obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of this area. Red Bird Mission and Clinic strives to meet these needs by providing accessible healthcare, access to education (Pre-K to 12th grade), and support for Economic Opportunities.
